Masai Mara

South Western Kenya is the heartland of the Masai. At the heart of these lands is the Masai Mara Game Reserve, widely considered to be Africa’s greatest wildlife reserve. The Mara comprises 200 sq miles of open plains, woodlands and riverine forest. Contiguous with the plains of the Serengeti, the Mara is home to a breathtaking array of life. The vast grassland plains are scattered with herds of Zebra, Giraffe, Gazelle, and Topi. The Acacia forests abound with Birdlife and Monkeys. Elephants and Buffalo wallow in the wide Musiara Swamp. The Mara and Talek rivers are brimming with Hippos and Crocodiles.

The Masai Mara is Kenya's most celebrated game park, it offers the possibility of seeing "the big five" and many other species of game. Each year the Mara plays host to the world’s greatest natural spectacle, the Great Wildebeest Migration from the Serengeti. From July to October, the promise of rain and fresh life giving grass in the north brings more than 1.3 million Wildebeest together into a single massive herd. They pour across the border into the Mara, making a spectacular entrance in a surging column of life that stretches from horizon to horizon. At the Mara River they mass together on the banks before finally plunging forward through the raging waters, creating a frenzy as they fight against swift currents and waiting crocodiles.
The wildebeest bring new life to the Mara, not just through their cycle of regeneration of the grasslands, but for the predators who follow the herds.

KSS 08 : 7 Days Mt.Kenya/Nakuru/Masai Mara

Day 1:

Arrival at Jomo Kenya International Airport. You will be met by our local representative and transferred to the Panafric Hotel or similar. Day free for orientation and Safari briefing. Overnight stay at the Hotel. For Panafric Hotel.

Day 2/3

Breakfast at the Hotel. Commence the drive North through Central Kenya to arrive for lunch at Outspan Hotel. Dinner and Overnight  at Outspan

Day 4:

After breakfast, link up with your driver/guide for the morning drive to Lake Nakuru  and other spectacular countryside.

Afternoon game drive at the lake shore. Return to the Lodge for dinner and overnight stay at Lake Nakuru Lodge.

Day 5: Lake Nakuru –Masai Mara

Breakfast at the Lodge. Embark on the morning drive to the spectacular countryside. Arrival at Mara Sopa Lodge in time for lunch. Seated on a corner of the Reserve with plenty of Game, the Mara Sopa Lodge is a dream come true. The Lodge reflects the Masai people’s culture in its décor; the Masai are the surrounding community. They have remained proudly aloof from western civilization. Afternoon game drive. Dinner and overnight at the Lodge.

Day 6: Masai Mara

You have one full day at the Masai Mara. Here you may undertake optional Balloon rides. You may also visit a Masai tribal village as an option. Enjoy morning and afternoon game viewing drives. All the meals are included. Overnight stay at Mara Sopa Lodge.

Day 7:

Departure

Breakfast, free till departure. Drop at the Airport
